User reviews affect conversion to installs and app rating. Featured and helpful reviews are the first to be noticed by users and in case of no response can affect download rate. This is why it is highly recommended to reply to them.
The only thing missing is the new, updated balance after every transaction. It could be a small number to the right of the amount of the transaction. It’s easier to keep track that way rather than waiting until the end of the month to view my statement.
I only used the old app to deposit checks and pay bills. The mobile deposit feature is critical for me as I no longer live in Canada and it is the only reasonable way for me to deposit money without crazy fees (USD Cheque to my USD Scotiabank account). Now when I attempt to deposit a cheque I get "no accounts" even though I've got 2 accounts (USD and CAD checkings) visible on the main screen. Furthermore I'm unable to pay bills. I'm being told I need to have a Scotiabank checkings account even though I have one. Don't get me wrong, I like the new UI but only if it works! Happy to re-review once a fix is in place.
They switched to some twisted idea of an outdated recent trend to makes things flat and fluffy crap. Lost a ton of functionality, simplicity and use-ability and all I did was log in and look at an account. HORRIBLE TRASH, BRING BACK THE OLD. Wow, what a pain in the .... Looks stupid. Have so many more things to do to find the info you want. The old app was way more functional and efficient. Some developer they hired has to touch with reality of how people use things. Just so much fluff and bloat it takes so much effort to do stuff. Before I could just see it all and slide to my next account. So much more functional. Now click and click and click to try to figure it out, scattered all over the place. Trying to make it look pretty is all someone tried. What junk. The bank isn’t any better I have found, I sincerely regret getting credit cards with them. I used to think the app was one of their best features.
In any enterprise IT folks know their validation testing before roll out an app or updating existing app. In the case of Scotiabank UAT non existence. Not only ruin perfectly working app, roll out new app without the consistency and the functionality of the old app, features missing, crashing or slow authentication etc. Banks are the worst when it comes to technology best practices. Fire the entire IT department for incompetence. It has been over a year no real improvement to the app. Credit score still missing. I see there are daily revisions and updates to the up without any substance what’s so ever.
We have been contemplating a change in banks. This is the first time I logged in to the new app, and I’ll tell you what… We now have a reason to change banks. The app is terrible and the functionality just isn’t there. All I’m trying to do is look back three months at bill payments.I can’t even find the bill pay option on the new app much less the payments that were made. I love the old app it was everything you needed and it worked well. Bye bye Scotia Bank....
