The Average Everyday Adventures of Samantha Browne is an interactive story about a painfully introverted college student who needs to make oatmeal in the communal kitchen of her dorm. Samantha has been waiting for everyone to go to sleep, or go out, or do whatever it is people who enjoy social interaction do. She’s hungry, impossibly hungry. She’s got a full box of oatmeal waiting for her consumption but she needs your help. Trouble is, helping Sam isn’t always easy. This interactive experience will challenge you to find the right words to help Samantha as she embarks on her journey to the other side of her bedroom door. Features - Original artwork and animations by comic book artist, Reimena Yee - Dynamic soundtrack by Adrianna Krikl - Player decisions impact the outcome of the game in unexpected ways - Oatmeal not included

I liked the art style of the game, it seemed to fit thematically, and I found the cat mug very cute. I don't think I've explored all possible paths, as I feel Samantha's desire to not mess this up as keenly as she does, but the two paths I went on flowed well. I think this game stressed me out a little honestly, as I understand fully the exact process of Samantha's thoughts. But I think that's what made getting back with the oatmeal cathartic, because at least we managed to have dinner. The game feels accurate to anxiety, but kind of in a good way, the cute style fit somehow, and although I finished quickly, I found making oatmeal to be a very enjoyable accomplishment.
Short and to the point, this game is great for passing the time with. Making a decision truly feels important as you may think twice before choosing, since you want to help Samantha get her oatmeal without meeting whatever ominous consequence the game entails. The bgm was unobtrusive and a delight to listen to as you progress, with an art style that's unique and easy on the eyes. The character is believable and (at least in my opinion) easy to connect with; I found myself kind of cheering them on to make it through their endeavor. Honestly I would like Samantha to get into more "adventures" in a sequel of sorts, as I would like to see more of this character.
Hi. I never really write reviews because I think communicating is terrifying but I really liked this game. I have anxiety and the thoughts and struggles Sam dealt with are spot on. Sometimes I forget that other people get it too. This reminded me that other people deal with the things I do and it makes me feel less lonely. It was a lovely game. I would definitely follow Sam on more adventures.
This short Choose Your Own Adventure style game is pleasant in every way. The soundtrack and effects are a joy. Samantha's character was immediately relatable, and the writing makes it worth multiple plays even if you've already completed it. (I'd love to play a game of this style that was even longer.) Give this one a go!👍🏻
A quick, fun casual game with surprising (but logical!) cause and effect options, cute art, and great music and sound effects. As a person with anxiety, the simple task that feels impossible is very understandable, and the game’s approach to it is clever and kind; it never feels condescending or dismissive, never implies that Samantha could just Not Be Nervous. A fun, solid game!
