Normally this app is glitchy but decent. This is the easiest and quickest way for me to pay my bill. This morning though, I had a very weird experience with the app to the point it was a bit sickening. I logged in with all of MY correct information and once the account loaded, I noticed one of my items was missing. Was a bit weird so I decided to try and do some digging by going to my information and NONE of it was mine. Not my name, address, phone number...none of it was mine. I logged out and logged back in and it fixed itself but how could this even happen?? I didn’t take any screenshots for the simple fact that I didn’t wanna keep his information but I’m seriously baffled.
I gave this app two stars because one time I went to log in and I logged in to someone else’s account? I have absolutely no idea how that happened with my information but I can clearly see that there’s not much security in this company’s site/app. The app itself is pretty straight forward, you gotta log in every time you launch it (oh boy) and there’s not much you can do on it other than look at your payments. For some reason this app feels like I came from the early 00’s. Like no ones worked on it since, cause if it isn’t broke don’t fix it I guess. It definitely needs an overhaul. I feel like they made it in PowerPoint presentation which would’ve been fine in 2008. I could be nitpicking the overall graphic design but it needs updated. The app itself seems like a joke though, you can’t really do anything on it besides making a full payment or setting up autopay. I’d like to make a small payment every now and again rather than one giant lump sum. I have two banks and it’s easier to go half and half between the bank cards rather than having transfer funds to my other bank and waiting 5 days before I can make a payment. So I never actually can use this app, I always have to call into my store. I want to feel like this app is there for me to use as an alternative and not there just as a reminder for payments. Which it isn’t even good at since I just get emails when my payment is coming up.
A few weeks ago I was unable to pay on this app, it would take me through all the screens as if it was going to work with my card and all and then it wouldn’t let me go to the final screen and I was unable to pay that way. So I went into the store to pay my bill and the manager of my Rent-A-Center store reset my app so that I could pay on the app going forward. So the next week when my bill was due it actually worked...well at least I thought it did because it said “thank you, your payment has been processed.” So for two weeks it said the same thing so I thought it was fixed well Rent-A-Center kept calling and calling asking for my payment every day and I was confused because according to the app I paid two weeks in a row. So I explained that to the rep and she said well it wasn’t processed we’ve been having problems with the app or whatever. Well thanks for letting me know that once my money was taken and went somewhere cause it came out of my bank account so I had to pay double unfortunately. Rent-A-Center really needs to get this fixed and give me credit or something. But conclusion is I would highly recommend that nobody should attempt to pay on this app.
Would give it 5 stars, but the app doesn’t give you the option to payoff early or to pay more. I like to use the mobile app to pay, I’ve only had a few glitches logging in to pay. I wish you would listen to your customers and offer more options. Once I’m done paying what I purchased I’m done with Rent-A-Center. I don’t like going to my home store anymore because of new management, they don’t listen either. I’ve been a customer for 10 years I’m done.
I have two problems with this app. One: when you make a payment using this app, you have to be sure to check your email for a confirmation that the payment went through, because if you assume it did, but it didn’t they will call you like you stole their grandmother’s prize possession & they want it back. Second: for the last couple of months I have tried to log into the app but I always get the “sorry we are experiencing technical difficulties, please try again or later”, which is frustrating because the app is the only way you can see how many payments you have left. Why can’t that be on the website?!?!
