CARROT To-Do

I downloaded this app after other attempts of time management apps required me to sign in to use. Sign in for what?! I just want to have a livable clean house to invite guests to relax and enjoy, without their need to move dirty underwear off the couch with an empty paper towel tube, before sitting down. So I already had other Carrot apps, I figured, "What could go wrong?" Two hours later, the dirty dishes are still stacked in the sink, the dirty laundry is still in the hamper (most of it) and the living room is still messy. I've wasted two hours pulling down the screen, typing "m"...."Done" and swiping them away, one by one, just to get to the next level...and next level...and next level. I'm on Level 60. I haven't figured out what I'm doing wrong, but I tried typing, "Carrot I'm bored", and I got a message "Command not recognized" (I do not have fat fingers, by the way...they're a bit chubby, if that). I've tried typing "I AM bored", I've altered punctuation, capitalization, syntax, ...everything you can suggest, I have already tried. What am I doing wrong? Devs, please reply. I'm obsessing, here? Other than threatening the health and safety of Justin Beiber and a typeart cat, this isn't a bad app; though it's rather counterproductive, for an app that's supposed to help me organize. At least it doesn't make me sign in or force me buy a subscription to use it.

Making me laugh when she’s angry, and making me actually feel good about myself when I complete tasks. I really like how this to do list app is different from all others. It’s not that it’s overly simple...it’s that it’s training you to be consistent and reliable...and there’s a lot of thought and psychology put into that to do it right. You level up, gaining confidence and unlocking more and more complex (relatively) options until it revivals other apps that come with everything right away. CARROT is personal. The simplicity at the beginning helps those of us who don’t get around to things BECAUSE we get overwhelmed and BECAUSE other apps and lists can feel too complex. Starting on an easy level and gradually boosting your confidence until you are comfortable enough with the app, and before you know it , you’re actually tackling your goals. For real. And I’ve tried everything. I have over focused adult ADD, and while I have good intentions and can be highly motivated to begin with, I lose focus quickly. Like with this review. Done. Also I echo what LOLAJEFF just said.

I love this app! My boyfriend introduced me to it and I was skeptical at first if it would really be helpful. I have tried so many things to try to be productive. This app is the only thing that has truly helped me be consistent with getting tasks done. Carrot is so funny, and sassy! It is a great mix of her positively rewarding you when you do tasks within a certain time and also getting upset when you haven’t done anything in a while. It’s so weird, for the first time in a long time I’m actually excited to get stuff done! This app is great, 5 stars all around and I highly recommend it, especially if you are someone who struggles to get stuff done consistently or in a timely manner or just in general. I hope to be able to try the other Carrot apps too!

I’ve been using this to-do app for over a year now, and while it has been effective, a year later I’ve grown tired of the constant nagging and snarky comments to motivate me (I used to be more amused by them, but am now weary of them). And so I’m going back to another to-do app that I liked and used in the past. My biggest wish with this app, which still has not been granted, even though I emailed the developer regarding it about 10 1/2 months ago, was to set windows of time that are off limits to CARROT, such as for when I’m sleeping or working, during which times I’m not able to complete tasks in my to-do list. I received a response saying this was a good idea for a future upgrade, but that was many months ago, and the functionality still hasn’t been added (I read another user’s review that echoed similar sentiments). I just find it disappointing that I get CARROT in a good mood by completing a bunch of tasks and later find CARROT in a bad mood because of time I was not able to spend completing tasks due to the need for getting sleep or working at my job, which in my opinion is not fair. I really hope the developer adds this ability in a future update.

Best to-do app ever! But Ya' def need a good sense of humor w this one!! I would think this app would help a kid having to do chores have a little more fun w them since this borders on a to-do list app turned game (I know I coulda' used something likes this as a kid.. Back in the 70's when phones were still attached to the wall lol!!) So Ik it Sounds crazy to say but she amuses me.... It turns boring old cores etc into a type of silly game...U should give this a try.. Esp if u have a good sense of humor! .. a few tips: Just don't make her mad! You earn points for every completed task and move into higher "levels" which can sometimes earn u a little surprise from her.... And lastly... Don't forget about your kitty kat!! Yup.. you get a pet cat u have to keep happy n fed (or else she'll b mean to it n u lose points.... Those cheats seem kinda silly - no surprise since the entire app is totally whacko ... But they come in handy sometimes n not super expensive....
