I deliver for you all in Ga market (Macon) but lately I have noticed I’m getting orders to pick up and drop off in another region and you all are paying as if I’m in that region. I also noticed you are paying less delivery fee some of $1.00 and then the mileage is like not even 50 cents. It’s more like .10 a mile from where I’m at to the restaurant and customers house I can be 20 miles round trip and yet I am only getting paid just to go to the restaurant. You guys need to not penalize us for dropping blocks and or decline orders because it doesn’t make sense to pay $4 for a delivery and we have to wait. If we have a order and “someone else gets the food or it gets cancelled” you guys should pay the driver for driving there something because we drive for you all and we never know if it gets picked up or cancelled until we are there or heading that way pay us something. If you want us to deliver out of region don’t mark us absent or tell us we are out of region because you all sent us out of region to do a delivery on behalf of you guys! And get rid of the status primmer pro and partner it makes no sense because we all have to decline orders from time to time when you want us to pick up and drop off out of area.

I appreciate how Grubhub Offers a pay incentive if you just accept most orders that come your way! It’s cool and I think probably works best in locations that have very strong demand and lots of schedule need. For me - after having done thousands of deliveries in two states and learned the craft - Grubhub shines so far above the rest because they have complete transparency to decide whether to do an order or not. The way customers tip ahead for great service stands alone. The key to a working sharing system is this, the ability for every worker to have control over the work accepted. No other platform I can work for in my markets does this, and they ought to. The end result is that customers get excellent service from someone who is delivering to them because they know the area and decided to accept the order based on its value. Uber doesn’t get this, they are the worst. They float on middle to low end revolving door of customers and contractors. I call that bottom lining. It means there is little retention to have experienced deliverers or loyal customers. They just use it once in a while if they have to. Not the case with Grubhub because they are doing this right.

I’m from Philadelphia. I received a late order for New Jersey, for popeyes, which was 35 minutes away. I crossed state lines, paid a toll, drive there, only for the restaurant to be long closed, then for the order to be cancelled altogether. I’m then 35 minutes + another toll away from my delivery region. When I called support, they didn’t say much and then transferred me to another support member, who then apologized, before falling into silence as well. I said, “what happens now? No response. I say, “I drove really far to get here, and now I’m out both money and time, and us drivers don’t make much to begin with. Our time is a commodity.” He says that there’s nothing he can do. I tell him that doordash offers drivers half of the rate for miscommunications that clearly aren’t the driver’s fault. He then says there’s no payment or compensation that can be made. The customer service was horrible. I had to take the lead as no one else was speaking or saying anything of substance. I DO NOT recommend driving for grubhub. Horrible customer service, when they give you late orders they don’t notify the customer, so you have an angry customer on your hands that thinks the tardiness is your fault, and the rates are horrible. Go drive for uber eats, doordash, postmates, but not grubhub. I’ve never had a worthwhile experience. This system needs a big Change up.

I worked for them for a year and started in the Cherry Hill region. I transferred to Rowan University and they put me in the Glassboro region. I was doing the job as usual and signed up for some shifts I don’t normally do in the afternoon since I normally work in the evening. I got 2 orders after working only 4 hours I was available the whole time. They compensated me for the time I worked and I only had the 2 orders. Next thing I know I get an email saying my scheduling has been restricted due to driver fraud collecting the hourly minimum without delivering orders. I reach out for more information and they just keep repeating this corporate jargon. I am never shown a shred of evidence. If I truly committed this supposed fraud they did not even warn me before restricting me. It takes forever to get an email back trying to find out more information. I reach out to my driver specialist Quintessa Hobson I explain what happened and she tells me the exact same thing about committing driver fraud and how they can’t change my scheduling back. So I quit.

I applied several times, only to be told I would be put on a wait list.. Then taken off the wait list, only to be put right back on the list. Then they will waste 3 months deciding weather or not even hey want you to complete said application. When you complete it, they will tell your information is wrong. Despite having all the correct information listed... Then when you try to contact customer service, you’ll get told they don’t have a department to handle these issues, and that it’s not their problem. Then they will text you with some BS saying they need the correct information... I have never felt like I had to fight to work for anyone before. Their process is beyond ridiculous, and they are less than helpful and unfriendly. Moral of the story, Postmates and Doordash will hire you the same day, and you won’t have any of these troubles... Don’t waste your time with Grubhub... 👎 Oh and forget logging into their app... You’ll have to change your password at least once everyday... I feel sorry for the customers, bc if the people trying to work for them have this problem, I’m sure the customers do as well...
