Alto Pharmacy

I usually don’t write reviews but given how amazing this service/app was I thought it would be more than fair to review this one time. I got all my prescriptions sent directly to Alto and got it the same evening. Plus, the out of pocket price for one med that was not fully covered by my insurance was extremely affordable. On top of that, they immediately took care of Prior Authorization requests with my provider/insurance... which is usually a bit of a hassle. It blows my mind that they are able to provide all this and free delivery (by bike! yay for non pollutants.) Fantastic experience so far!

Guys, Alto is lovely. I was having some difficulty getting my new prescription submitted by my doctor before my supply ran out - but I let Alto know, and they helped right away! They had me speak to a pharmacist, who was able to write me an emergency prescription for a small supply to last me until my regular prescription was processed. I also greatly appreciate their option to use gender-neutral pronouns. It’s so convenient to have my meds delivered directly to me, and they always include a salted caramel with every delivery. They’re the best.

I am so excited about Alto Pharmacy. I’ve very rarely written reviews but this one I had to do. Today I knew I would have to go to the pharmacy and I was dreading the idea of the line at the drugstore which always makes me feel uncomfortable and dirty. I thought there has to be an Uber of prescriptions so I typed in the search term. Voilà I found alto pharmacy and I am never going back to the drugstore pharmacy line. Thank you for the first class user experience, very responsive help, and very timely delivery service.

This is a great idea but the execution is terrible. The app itself crashed on me multiple times when trying to upload a photo of my credit card for example and I had to start the process all over again for registration. The actual service has been terrible so far. They don’t seem to understand anything about how pharmacy law works in terms of prescription transfer and place blame on the pharmacy when they make mistakes. They also don’t follow up when they say they’re going to. I initiated my first prescription transfer several days ago and I haven’t gotten my prescription yet. Instead of them following up to let me know what’s going on I have to repeatedly message and call. Total noobs.

This makes getting prescriptions delivered very easy. I can send messages to people working at Alto about deliveries, or any issues, and I get a reply within a couple hours. The deliveries almost always come within the first hour of the 3 hour window and I get a text when it is 5 minutes away. Also great that I know that the price will always be the lowest for my prescriptions. Won’t be changing pharmacies any time soon! :)
