User reviews affect conversion to installs and app rating. Featured and helpful reviews are the first to be noticed by users and in case of no response can affect download rate. This is why it is highly recommended to reply to them.
This app only has one target audience: those who prescribe to the "orange" theory. After all the app is for the orange theory establishment. And the whole point is to map your heart rate to a color zone and collect splat points. That's exactly what the previous version did. It showed my heart rate over a color grid and calculated minutes per zone. This latest update decided to remove the color chart and the splat points and show a car dyno-like black and white chart. All my splat points are gone. Instead there are new graphs like my distance, speed etc., but guess what? The orange theory monitor ONLY monitors heart rate so these are all useless. If you're going to leverage a third party and license an app platform make sure the updates reflect the franchise and not just what the platform thinks will work for the most companies. Now this app is pointless.
Awful. Booking a class requires updating profile info. Home phone required. I cut the cord years ago so I put in my cell phone but. I mask in this field. I try (nnn)nnn-nnnn. Won't take. I try (nnn) nnn-nnnn. Won't take. Same with nnn-nnn-nnnn and nnnnnnnnnn. Really? Maybe it's smart to know it matches my mobile phone so I put in my former home phone in all these formats. Won't take. GRRR. Can't book a class. I then go to full site, book my class, go to edit my profile with home phone. No bleeping home phone field. Right now this app is useless. Don't even get me going about having to pick country and state to switch studios if you happen to live across state lines. Why is it designed that way? I should've able to jump by zip or city. Bad bad bad. I'm a product manager for mobile apps and your product team should be ashamed. Surprised Apple approved this app.
This is be worst and dumbest app and hardest I have ever used. First, I paid 100$ to buy this piece of crap that doesn’t work well outside of the studios. If you want to workout outside of the studios, you have to carry your phone AND have the app open AND have internet access at all time. The OTBeat has to be connected to the phone during these out of studio workout and your phone has to be connected to the internet as well if you want to keep track of your workout. Who designs an app or a hardware like that? If I could go out for a run without carrying my phone, come back and sync it using the app, wouldn’t have be great! Even my toothbrush can hold my last two weeks’ brushing record. Terrible design!!! What a team of dumb engineers!!!
I just joined the gym and was enthusiastic about being able to monitor my performance both inside and outside of the gym. I joined the gym because of this capability. The problem is that I have never been able to login into this software even though the other app for class booking that was developed by a different company works just fine. This app DOES NOT work. I have called and left messages and also emailed the company, yet the issue has not been resolved. I am very frustrated because the membership costs a lot and no seems to care about this terrible problem with the system. I would give the app a zero if I could but I cannot.
Thankfully the "old" style performance summary returned to the app shortly after the upgrade and the uproar that followed. Kudos to the Dev team for listening to users. That said, the out-of-studio workout feature needs help. If you are like me and do intervals outside of the studio, you need the ability to keep time. The big issue there is that the app doesn't prevent the phone from sleeping, so you constantly need to touch the screen to keep the phone unlocked and the time visible. The display of the time could also stand a larger font, as is it is difficult to read even on a treadmill.
