So I just got an iPhone 8, so hopefully it will work better on here (haven’t tried yet). My experience comes with the 6 and my friends iPad when we watch on the tv outside. The only television that I watch is sports. When we use the iPad, we’re on his homes WiFi and when I watch on my phone, I am always on my home WiFi. So there’s nothing that should be to blame other than the app. The broadcasts frequently get interrupted, and they either buffer for a while and come back, or likely it just stops all together and you need to re-tap the channel (which is very annoying if you’re not in arms reach). Some times you click a channel, it tries loading, and fails. And then fails again. And again. Until you close the app and lock your device and try again from there. Also the menu formatting is garbage. It looks like it’s from 2003 and it shows me the channels they want me to watch before showing the channels I actually DO watch. Please fire whoever developed this app. They deserve it. On a side note I’m only even giving this my time because I had to download the app again to my new phone 😂
I've written several reviews and rereading them now nothing I've written (over a year's worth) has been fixed! And now? I can't record off the app! For months I have been getting "your request could not be completed try again momentarily"...WHAT IS THE POINT OF HAVING AN APP IF WE CANT USE IT?! Listen to your users and DO SOMETHING!! The ONLY reason I use this app at all is because half of my remote's buttons stopped working. Can't get to the office to get a new one so I'm stuck. This app is so unreliable it's more than frustrating. What may make it even worse? When I've contacted their customer service about it, they always ask for my acct number before they ask what's wrong. Why. Why do you need my account number to fix an app that (looking at the reviews) everyone is having trouble with? My acct has nothing to do with your app not even opening! Or your app telling me that "this function isn't working now, try again later!" When I finally got someone to listen to me after 3 months of complaints, the answer I got?? "Well if you go onto your laptop and use the website, you can take care of your programming needs." Really?! Why bother having the app then?! If I'm not near my computer a lot then how is this help? Why bother having an app if you are just going to tell people to not use it and use the computer? Unfortunately for me it's a necessary evil because I need the remote feature. But even then, that only works when the app actually opens!
optimum should be doing better for their customer instead of pulling this scam on its customer. With all the money we are paying for cable, and now hoping to be able to see one tv peograms to go, when one logged into optimum to watch their news or whatever from the menu why am I am being told that I am now being taken from optimum into the app for the news or fox or whatever their network is which means now I have to down their app and then subscribe to their network. Cable your company needs to fix this. I am paying cable not Fox News or Bronx x news or whatever other network or station. This should be stopped by the FCC and not be allowed by these other stations. Then they want a person to allow notifications and alerts etc which I say no. Why should the other station first of all have my password on their server. Go back to the way you first had cable it was better. Then when one is watching shows you have 20 min of commercials and paying cable like $200 bills. Get it together optimum this is horrible
This app really needs to be updated or even better, redesigned. Not only does this not fit the screen of my iPhone X with those horrendous black bars at the bottom and top but it is just so extremely slow. In today’s world this simply does not cut it. I’ve always hated the fact that I’m not able to watch live TV anywhere outside my home because I need to be logged on to my home router which I find stupid. Why would I watch TV on my phone at my house on my phone instead of my actual TV? I believe Xfinity allows you to do this so I don’t see the issue. Back to the app being extremely slow. I’ve had this app on all my phones since 2015-ish and I’ve never seen a change. Maybe this cut it back then but this is 2019. Where is the sleek design? The faster navigation? The easy to use interface? I need an app that isn’t going to force close on me, not going to lag, and keep up with whatever it is I’m doing. I’m pretty sure with the right resources this is possible. They definitely have the money for it. This isn’t my only issue with Optimum as I can say all the same with their TV software. Honestly they need to step up their game big time. I see brand new trucks, new boxes, new everything. I hope they begin to work on the actual product and making it better. I wish there were more features on their TV software which could also tie in with this app. Just need a refresh of everything and this could be a good start.
I’m actually speechless for the pile of absolute garbage that optimum provided there customers. Want to watch your favorite show? No problem u can watch it for 2 mins then it’s going to freeze for 5. Oh you wanted audio and to watch your favorite show? Sorry we can’t provide that, either you can have only audio with a frozen screen, or no audio with terrible graphics for 2 mins till it freezes again. I’m so embarrassed to actually say I pay monthly for this cable provider. My sisters pet fish could make a better app then these disgraceful fools that work for this company. It’s not even just he app. The WiFi and even my Television is just atrocious because of these idiots who are scamming everyone. But hey, maybe I’m the idiot for spending 5 mins writing this review because we all know they are never going to fix this mess they got themselves in because we still are buying.
