Nova Empire: Space Wars MMO

One of the best FTP MMO experiences I have had on a tablet. Hats off to the devs for the balanced play. It is the first type of this game I have played where a hard working FTP player or low spender can stay in contention with the bigger spenders. ... Update, several months later.... I am not a big spender, but am still well in contention. There is no tiered system for troops (fleets in this case), only marginal gains from upgrades so several smaller players can take on a larger player. The whales (big spenders) never get too far ahead due to game balancing including exponential build times and caps on the sizes and number of fleets that can be put into play. Alliance purchase systems are hugely generous, so an active player will never feel pressured to spend a lot of real money on speed ups and items for movement and repairs to stay in the game. all in all, a great game where a low spending or ftp player who is active and has learn’t the games systems can stay a top 20 player.

I have read through some of the reviews left on here and I agree with most. This game is both fantastic and engaging. The people I have experienced on this game are friendly and helpful. Yes some use foul language but if your offended by that there’s an easy fix, Don’t Play! You know who you are 😂 😡The only thing wrong with this game and the reason for my one star review is the total lack of support the dev team actually give! You don’t even get an original response when you make a complaint 😡and then they ignore any future responses you send 😡😡 Now I can live with the fact that the dev team have the right to change statistics and rebalancing the game, I truly do! It’s probably in the small print somewhere? But when you buy the remaining fragments for the long awaited Constantine ships you have heard all your friends talk about for months, and before you have the chance to build a fleet even! The dev team decide to change the terms of the contract of purchase! This made me feel as if I bought a balloon with a hole it in 😭But the most disappointing part of this experience is not even “I’m sorry this has happened to you” from the so called support team 😡

Love this game, but it is fundamentally flawed in that you can be wiped out, literally back to square 1, by bigger players. I’ve actually started again on a new server after this happened to me in an elite galaxy - just did not have the heart or inclination to rebuild. I started, but gave up as I knew how long it was going to take to get back to where I was, and I figured if I had to do that it may as well be in a normal galaxy, with all the fun of making quick progress in the beginning. Either way, you’re always open to being farmed again and again. I’d advise avoiding in-game purchases - any resources you buy with your real cash can be (and probably will be) stolen if you’re raided by bigger players. The alliance thing is great and poisonous at the same time - fantastic to be in a good one, not so great if you’re on the wrong side of the fence from a load of war-mongers. And there’s the catch: this is a war game. You will be killed and set back. You will have to rebuild. The problem is the effort and grinding (or just $$$) required to do that.

This game has potential as it has a lot of interesting aspects including the usual station/ship upgrading, resource hunting, alliance dynamics, customisation, wars, bonus events and so on. The huge thing that lets the game down badly is that once you get to a reasonable level and have invested a lot of time (and money?) in the game (currently level 5, 3.5m development, 4 fleets) a much higher ranked player (20m development) wiped out my fleets and trashed my station taking all my resources in 3 attacks. I hadn’t even finished recovering from that hit when another high ranked player again trashed my (and others’) stations. Many players are now quitting and after playing its game for 6 months and really starting to enjoy it I have now decided to move on to another game. Do NOT waste your money on this game. You will only be feeding the high rank players with cheap resources unless the game is changed and gets level matching.

The game concept is the best I’ve come across, unfortunately the owners are terrible. you can’t fight wars without the game crashing I’ve now lost everything 4 times on 4 different accounts because of game crashes and bugs one being I was attacked under shield which support tried to tell me I had scouted someone and I proved to them that was a lie, they then kept closing my tickets, on my 3 other accounts I had lost all my fleets to a game crash/ unplanned maintenance while the enemy galaxy was still able to access the game, support again did not care and messed me around repeating the same responses, I would advise no one to continue or start playing this, I played for over a year, there isn’t enough content in game to keep you interested and more than half of the players have quit due to these reasons, unless they improve the game will die before 2020
