Easy to setup and use. Just wish I could setup a time delay for the heaters to turn on after turning off. As I’m writing this the heaters have turned on and off 3 times. I get that it’s trying to keep the temp steady but being able to set them to be on a minimum of X minutes and off a minimum of X minutes would be great.
These thermostats require your phone to be joined to a 2.4GHz radio band WiFi network before you set them up. Make sure your phone is temporarily configured to use that WiFi band only. HomeKit setup took up to 60 seconds for a couple steps, but otherwise went off without a major hitch. I’m very happy with the app’s features and the thermostat’s capabilities. Installed them in two rooms and can group them together as a single zone to control both simultaneously. They look elegant and modern and are perfect for a remodeled space. Hookup was easy and the app guides you through an excellent wiring tutorial. Nice job!
In order to do basic things like adjust the brightness of the thermostat’s screen, Mysa requires you to create an account and allow them to collect your location, your device settings, when you change your thermostat and what you set it to, and more. They can store that information indefinitely and sell your data to anyone they want. If you don’t create an account and allow them to collect that information, the app will continually pester you every time you open it and require you to skip past multiple screens. It appears that exploiting their users is a core part of their business model. If you’re stuck with one of these, use HomeKit and automations for dealing with it. I use an automation to turn off the display at night and for adjusting temperatures based on my location.
Needed to update my thermostats from the turn dial analog, to something I could program and set to forget. Nothing worse than remembering that I left my electric baseboard heaters on all day while at work. Only update I would suggest is that it should track my location, if I’m away from home, it should be off (not just on a timer) and if I’m on my way home, it could warm up for a little while before I get there.
Can’t change settings from phone if internet is lost. We have the MYSA located in our bedroom. We were unable to turn the brightness settings off when we went to sleep with the internet being out due to a storm. There are no available automatic settings that will turn the light down. Also, even with having internet available setting the inactive brightness to 0 usually doesn’t make the light turn off. You also have to turn the inactive light to off.
