My China Taxi - China Taxi App

If you are accustomed to using Uber or Lyft, this is a solid and reliable service and app to use in Beijing. My experience was excellent. You always know your rate before accepting the ride. When it’s rush hour they give you an opportunity to either wait for economy car or upgrade for quicker pickup. The upgrade was never that much more, so I always selected that option. Also love that the rate doesn’t change from when you first accept ride, despite a change in ride time or if driver makes wrong turn. Be ready to use a translator app though, because most drivers will not speak English. But neither does much of Beijing. After getting taken by a couple of taxi drivers when I first arrived (not knowing rates vs distance), I quickly found this app and used it a good 20+ times during my week long stay. Highly recommended.

I am an American who speaks no Chinese. This was my first trip to Asia. I am familiar with Uber but this app works differently. I had difficulty putting in my pick up and drop off locations. The app kept defaulting to Beijing and I was in Shanghai. I did not know how to put in my GPS location from inside the app. Despite all this, we took six successful trips. The drivers were professional, the cars were nice and the customer service was excellent. I was able to use my iPhone with my U.S. telephone and use my U.S. bank card so payment was easy.

Once the app was up and running, it worked great. I used it numerous times, and the support in contacting drivers and communicating/translating English-Mandarin was fast and responsive. Every vehicle was clean, fairly new, with good drivers. I actually recommended this to two other couples who were also in Beijing and having trouble getting taxis. The only issue was that it was somewhat glitchy loading the first time. I had to delete and reload twice before it worked properly, and tech support was not overly helpful. This is the only reason for four stars and not five.

My ChinaTaxi provided the best service. They were always on time, sent clean and nice drivers, they were very helpful on getting your most accurate location. The service rep on the app was very helpful when my sister left her phone in one vehicle they had the driver come back to our location and give is the phone. We stayed in China, Shanghai for 6days and we used them our entire stay! I would advise to use them, very reasonable price.

This car service has been an even bigger help than Didi. The fact that someone is able to communicate in real time IN ENGLISH, is fantastic. The customer service is also second to none in answering any questions or offering help in finding locations. I am very grateful for this service and have told my friends. I hope it’s available in other formats - other than ios soon.
