It’s decent and shows info around the area. Downside, some stuff is out of date. Thing that bothers me the most is that I can’t get rid of the “1” on the corner of the icon. I have searched through the entire app looking for any kind of notification so that I can clear it out and get rid of that stupid “1.”
I was approached my My base guide to advertise with them. I own a Leather company, Trapper Peak Leather. As a veteran, I ask for discounts as we all should. As I was talking to “my base guide” about advertising my leather company with them, I got all the info and pricing. At the end of the conversation I asked, “so as a veteran and advertising with your company, what discounts do you offer to me as a Veteran advertising with you. I was abruptly told, I’m sorry we don’t offer Veterans discounts, but please hold. Lady came back and offered me 10% off the advertising fees. So I am at a toss, do I do business with them or not.
This app would have been great to have when I was a new boot. But cellphones where still in the flip/matrix phase. It's nice to have a consolidated source of info from people who actually live in the area.
I downloaded this app to be a companion to the post directory. The app does not include a map nor does it include the white pages of the directory. Additionally, the search function for the local area is horrid. A listing of Retail stores does not include Target, WalMart, Sears, and more. Instead, it includes some niche stores like Vapor Geeks. All in all, there is no reason to use this app since any search engine not only does this app's job but it does it so much better.
The app is great! It literally has everything you could possibly need to be accustomed to the base. I had never been to Fort Knox, and needed help getting updates on Gates. It even has a cheapest gas price feature...very cool!
