midimittr is a simple utility to deliver the experience of low-latency MIDI over Bluetooth LE/USB to iOS Music apps that support MIDI. To achieve this, midimittr is routing the virtual ports of supported applications to Bluetooth and/or the USB Ports. If your favourite application is working with MIDI, it will most likely work with midimittr. Bluetooth over MIDI is supported in iOS 8+ and a feature of OS X Yosemite 10.10+. For more information please check out the support page. ---- - Connect to other Bluetooth MIDI Hardware, iOS or macOS devices wirelessly - Remembers previous routing settings for an uninterrupted workflow - Works in background - Get even lower latency with MIDI over Lightning cable* - Support for both iPad and iPhone ---- *For MIDI over Lightning cable please download the tool from the support page.

The only reason I gave it one star is in hopes that the developer sees it. It’s really a great app. I have just had a problem where the app keeps giving me pop-ups asking me to turn on Bluetooth to make a network connection, while I’m not using it. It all started happening when I added the widget to the widget list. Since then, it pops up every two or three minutes. Removing the widget and turning off background functions hasn’t resolved it. It could honestly be ipados, since crapple is now becoming known as the company which once made reliable devices - while Steve was alive. I’m about to uninstall the app as the pop-up is extremely frustrating. Again, I haven’t had any other problems really. Although, I honestly haven’t used it a ton (It just isn’t extremely useful in my workflow).
It was a bit of a hassle to get USB set up on Windows (requires additional installation of loopMIDI and a specific version of iTunes), but once it is set up, it runs flawlessly with very little latency. I am able to route my Novation Circuit as a MIDI controller through Reaper and use it to control almost anything on my iPad! Major kudos to the developer for releasing this as free software.
Simple app that solves a big problem. Latency With this app and a lightning cable, you can turn your iPad into a really REALLY powerful midi controller with almost zero latency. Great apps like the fugue machine aren't just limited to iPad only apps. I send those signals to Bitwig and get great stuff. Thank you very much for making this free.
Love this app. I used it with my DrumPants MIDI over Bluetooth triggers and could control all the music apps I use from my pants! Latency was very good and connects perfectly every time. One thing though is when I go out of range, I'd like it to automatically reconnect to the Instrument when I come back in range. It's super important when performing to have it reconnect without having to fiddle with the iPad in the middle of a set.
