Kiwi is your personal wiki. You can use it to write, edit, and reflect on your thoughts. You might already use an app for taking notes, so here's why it's different: - Link your notes together in whatever way makes sense to you instead of viewing them chronologically - you control the format. - Search your notes quickly and easily - find what you need. - Write your notes in markdown. No more WYSIWYG editors that don't do what you want. - Add photos, links, math notation, code snippets, and checkboxes. Flexibility is the name of the game. - Take your notes with you. Kiwi works offline and syncs automatically with Dropbox - you own your notes. If you're like me, your thoughts aren't chronological and linear — they're more like a web. Each thought or idea doesn't necessarily relate to the one before it, but over time, you find that they're connected. When a new idea emerges, or a new connection, and you can link it back to your other thoughts with Kiwi. I use Kiwi for: * A life and ideas journal * A place to take notes on books (whose content might be related) * A travel journal (with photos) * A math and programming journal - Todo lists while I'm out and about * A place to keep drafts of publishable writing * A way to organize and store trip itineraries, learning resources, recipes and anything else I made Kiwi because I wanted a flexible, personal wiki that I could take with me. I hope you'll find new uses for it that I couldn't even fathom. By the way, Kiwi is open source software and I'd love your feedback to help me figure out what to build next. I hope you like it!

 Why to reply to reviews?

User reviews affect conversion to installs and app rating. Featured and helpful reviews are the first to be noticed by users and in case of no response can affect download rate. This is why it is highly recommended to reply to them.

The description doesn't make this clear, but it *requires* you to link a Dropbox account. I couldn't find a way to proceed without linking one. The three-star rating is only because I couldn't find a way to post this without rating. I didn't actually get any use out of the app so I don't feel qualified to rate it.

This is one of my favorite apps for iOS. Despite not being the only personal wiki app, it is the most simple to use while still being flexible. Compared to Trunk Notes, it’s a lot easier to use and way more visually appealing. While Trunk Notes has more technical features, they are employed in such a visually messy way that I am deterred from using it. Kiwi is a lot more committed to the iOS UI. However, I do think that there are things that the Kiwi developer can learn from Trunk Notes. Other than Trunk Notes, I have never used another personal kiwi, be it tiddlywiki or Quine. This app has me set for life. I can use it for to-do lists, contact books, taking notes, journals etc. It is one of the most dynamic apps I have. While it took me a while to figure out the markdown, I learned it very quickly. While I commend the developer on making such a fantastic app, I do have a few suggestions to make the experience even better: - Have another option on the keyboard shortcut bar for horizontal rules (the dashes) - Allow Wifi-Sharing like Trunk Notes or other ways to access wiki from PCs - Allow subpages and page tags like in Trunk Notes - Allow multiple separate wikis that you can toggle between - Allow video or audio embeds - Allow personalization in terms of the app’s color scheme Also, a bug: - It seems that when I’m copying and pasting, the app crashes, which is terrible especially for links. That’s all, thanks for reading!

Excellent open source option for a personal wiki. Hoping for few developments (index, recent changes ...) but a solid base to work from. In the spirit of the wiki way.

The description does not make it clear that Dropbox is required. You cannot store the wiki on your phone and that is unacceptable.

OK, tried to use it again. Every time I tried to delete a page it crashes. Tried to delete a page and I also lost all changes I made in the home page. This is open source I believe, but if you’re going to offer it up in the App Store, at least make it stable. Not a happy camper. At this point I would say that it’s unusable. It’s not bad, and I like the formatting, but no print option is a deal breaker. Getting info in is half the battle, I need to share some of this with the outside world.
