App is intuitive for placing an order and it’s easy to see your rewards and apply coupons, but it just crashed on me 3-4 times before I finally finished and submitted my order. Each time the app would close and completely erase my order causing me to have to start over with pizza customizations again. I also wish they would specify *everything* that has extra charges (such as adding extra toppings) on the order page, not just the “View Cart” Page. Right now it shows toppings that cost more automatically (like steak or chicken), but don’t specify that adding mozzarella to a salad or 2 dipping sauces to cheese bread will also cost extra. Also, the words such as “Coupons” in the upper right corner change depending on which screen you are on, so I almost accidentally signed out when the word “Coupons” changed to “Sign Out” as I was switching screens.
This app is frustrating. I can’t reorder my last order because it says they no longer make one of the items on the menu that o ordered last time. I go to the menu and the howie three cheeser bread I want to order is right there. So I click it to add it to my cart and it takes me through all the steps to customize it and then it won’t let me add it to the cart. There is no error message or anything just doesn’t add or move from that screen. I called the store to see if they still make the three cheeser bread and of course they do. I ordered over the phone and wanted to apply the coupon for this item while I was one the phone but they wouldn’t apply it because it is for online orders only. Ok let me get this straight. I want to order the food, you have the food, the coupon is for ordering online only- which I much prefer over calling- and I can’t add the item to the cart. This defect along with other frustrating features of this app need to be corrected. I’m sure the company can afford a better app designer.
I have a sick toddler at home right now that is currently napping, so I went to place an order for the first time using the app. Since my last order was saved, I went ahead and went on with ordering, not remembering that we were on another side of town last time I ordered. It's my fault for not having my glasses on when I saw the receipt in my email, but after 45 minutes with no delivery, I go back and see where it had me picking up my order on the other side of town. I have my sick kid and have been prepping for hurricane Irma (I'm in north Florida) so I haven't eaten in well over 24 hours and broke down in tears when I called). I went back and to mimic my order, and lo and behold, there is no option to choose a location or delivery when you select to order the same thing you did the last time. Just because I want the same order doesn't mean I don't want to change it to delivery or change locations. I'm extremely frustrated right now, and of course the poor owner is having to cancel my charge for food that is already made and sitting there. PLEASE correct this!
When I click on the card I want to pay with and it checks it with a green check and allows me to enter in a tip amount, it comes up with “Error: Select a payment type”. Managers at the store have said this is an ongoing issue. I called headquarters in Royal Oak, MI 6 weeks or so ago and then a franchise partner called me a few days later and said his tech would call me which he never did. They did award me my points at headquarters and I tried to use the app today thinking they had plenty of time to fix it, but I got the same error message. I called Royal Oaks again and the guy there assured me I never called Headquarters in the first place without getting any personal information from me to hold and as I called him out for lying, he spoke over me to put me on hold. I don’t like Hungry Howie’s enough to fight for the ability to use a credit card on the app nor to lose my reward points towards free pizzas that I can get from other pizza places. I’ll just really miss the Asian pizza, but I’ll adjust to the menus of the other 4 pizza delivery joints in town.
So I just upgraded to the iPhone 11 and iOS 13.1. App just crashes when trying to open. If this was the first time this had happened I would have chalked it to being too new. But it did the same thing on my previous iPhone 7 Plus with iOS 12.4.1 and on my sons iPhone XR also with 12.4.1. Is this just abandonware at this point? Although not directly related, the website is also atrocious. Order failed twice trying to pay and finally went through. Although surprise, surprise... one of the “failed” orders didn’t actually fail and I got charged twice. Nice guy working there fixed it and also surprise the previous order right before mine had the same thing happen. Some one work in their IT department should really pay attention to these things. I really don’t like ordering on the phone and your app/website is making it darn difficult to use and this company has to be losing business because of it. Please fix it. I love your food and it’s so reasonably priced.
