User reviews affect conversion to installs and app rating. Featured and helpful reviews are the first to be noticed by users and in case of no response can affect download rate. This is why it is highly recommended to reply to them.
In a age of false promises and poor customer service amongst the electronics and computer industries and apps there are unsung heroes who back there products and trouble shoot them personally rather than direct you to a foreigner in another country on a random 1-800 number! These guys are the real deal and they move Heaven and Earth to make it right if there is a problem with any of their guide book apps! I emailed my problem and within minutes I had a email and a phone call by the developers themselves to come to my aid! They were patient and not judgmental due to my lack of computer / smart phone skills. Besides that if you are a Gunks climber you are treated to crisp route photos and accurate route descriptions. The GPS function works pretty good too! GET THESE Apps your money will be well spent!!!!!!!
Great climbing too
I just spent the better part of an hour and $9.99 trying to access a site on this app and finally gave up.I went through 7 or 8 access codes and none of them worked after I was told I was all ready registered. Tech support has stopped replying to me. All and all the worst app experience I’ve ever had. Now I actually have to give them a star when they don’t deserve that!
A guy at the climbing gym introduced me to this app. It is exactly what I would want from an app to go climbing in the Gunks. Hopefully, This catches on at other climbing areas across the country.

The Gunks app is a complete digital guidebook rock climbing and bouldering regions throughout the Northeast.
Climbs are accessed from a list, which is
searchable by name, grade, or route number. Selecting a climb reveals a base photo, the route's description, and a high-resolution zoom-able aerial topo photo. The topographic photos include belays, rappelling information, variations, and new link-ups.
The app includes GPS to find the nearest climb, a Tick List, a To-Do List, Cloud backup, and lots of filters. It also has a gallery of professional photographs and an informational kiosk for the community to share announcements.
This app was created by local climbing fixtures Christian Fracchia and Byron Igoe, and further content was contributed by Tom Chervenak, Andy Salo, Hillary Guzik, Paul Jung, Tim Keenan, Aleks Shineleva, Char Fetterolf, Ted Coffelt, Thacher Park Climber Coalition, Ryan Shipp, and Chris Lopez.
The Gunks app is an indispensable resource for both the seasoned veteran and the first time climber.
