The app provides color coordinated indicators for gout friendliness but I can’t find a key that says what the colors mean... I can assume, but some colors don’t make sense.
Some of the foods listed are rated too low for anyone needing a quick guide to foods that contain a low to moderate level of purines. Second, there is no creditable source of information listed that the app inventor or company used to arrive at the ratings listed for foods the app lists. Third, for an app that requires a fee, anyone should expect to get a little more than a simplistically designed app. I’m getting my money back. It’s a pity. It looked like a quick and easy way to look up foods that could be a useful tool for gout sufferers.
I LOVE this app! I was in the ER multiple times. I was treated by a Rheumatologist and began using this very simple and easy to understand app. I think there needs to be a little more explanation on how to use it, but for me its pretty great!
I needed to make a shopping list and I wanted to buy food that wouldn't aggravate my husband's gout. I wanted something simple which this is, but when you select something from the food category that you want to add to you list it doesn't automatically add the item or quantity. Instead it gives you a line to manually type in the item you just selected. Flawed...
Save your money. Very basic list of foods. Many things I have looked for is missing. Catfish, popcorn, breads (I see wheat and rye are bad. Is there any kind of bread I can eat? Tortillas?) I am new to gout, so I need more help than this app can offer. It does have a pretty interface.
