The app seemed pretty good when I started using it, and I felt like my vision for seeing far-away stuff was improving. I did the free one week trial, and then paid $10 for the one month thingie. I went on the app to do my session the next day, and it wouldn’t let me in. I get stuck on the screen with the GlassesOff logo and a spinning pinwheel thing underneath. For some reason the transaction for the one-month subscription didn’t register (thank goodness) but because I ended up deleting and redownloading the app I lost about a week’s worth of progress. Anyways, I re-downloaded the app and again, it went well for the first week besides the fact that I had to start all over. Then the same thing happened where I was stuck on the screen with the GlassesOff logo and the pinwheel thing underneath. I deleted and reinstalled the app and my progress was deleted. This has happened four times to me in total and it’s super annoying because Im just wasting my time of the program keeps sending me back to the beginning after a week. Thank you for listening to my TED talk.

I like the app because it seems to be working and helping me keep my eyes in good shape. I felt myself having trouble reading smaller text like on the side of bottles, but once I started using the app regularly this problem went away. It’s definitely worth paying for because even a subscription for the year is cheaper than a pair of glasses and the accompanying appointments. The only thing I wish they would change is to enable adjustments to the volume of the sound effects. I’d like to be able to turn that down so that when I practice while listening to an audiobook or podcast it is more convenient. Thanks so much.

I am in my mid 40s and had early onset cataracts. I had my lenses replaced with a multifocal lens. I found it very difficult to get use to the lenses. My daughter had vision therapy as a child and it was a success, so I thought I would give this a try. I appreciate that the ap doesn’t work on the eye muscles because me for that isn’t going to change with having artificial lenses. I used this ap right after surgery and it has been a really wonderful tool in adjusting to artificial lenses. Though I know the ap wasn’t designed for artificial lenses, it sure has made my ability to read with mine much better. AND compared to the cost of vision therapy in a doctors office? $10 a month is a drop in the bucket.

I'm 69 and have used strong drugstore reading glasses for almost 30 years. Before I started training with GlassesOff, the magnification that I used was 2.75 times--almost the maximum sold. Now I read short amounts of text like restaurant menus with no glasses. I still use reading glasses when I'm at the computer and reading books, that is, when I'm doing long stretches of reading, but I'm able to get away with a magnification of .75 times, which is close to the minimum sold. I love not having to carry around my glasses all the time and feeling that instead of getting worse with age, my vision has gotten better.

I am medical professional. I became aware of GlassesOff upon reading an article in the Wall Street Journal. Intrigued, I asked several of my colleagues ( including ophthalmologists, neurologists and neuroscientists) their opinion of this App. Universally, they opined that there may be some benefit from using it. I have been using GlassesOff daily for the past several years and have seen a great benefit from my vision. I no longer suffer from eye fatigue and headaches caused by eye strain. The best way that I can describe GlassesOff is that it is Physical therapy or Occupational therapy for your eyes. I highly recommend this App.
