Folioscope: Animation Network

Folioscope and it’s community is one of the best things that’s ever happened to me. On the animation side of things, it is BRILLIANT. It has a very simple interface which makes it great for beginners and pros alike. Although at first glance it might seem that you have only 6 colours, if you use dithering you can get hundreds. The slightly pixelated image of it can sometimes be annoying, but most of the time it’s just useful for detailed small drawings, super smooth animations, and pixel art. The only thing I would change would be the selection tool- I would like it to have better rotation capabilities. After you are finished you can save your animation as a gif with either a transparent or solid background (can be changed in settings), a video file, or as a printable pdf flipbook, OR you can upload it to the Folio community! The community is the most supporting and amazing hung I’ve ever been part of. There’s always animation challenges and official contests floating around and everyone’s so kind. Please! Can somebody from the folio team sort this out! I've used this app for quite a while and I love it. I don't have many followers, but that's ok. I was going to upload a short Esafety movie, in the hope that people wouldn't be so careless and unaware of the dangers of the Internet. I spent a month or so working on my animation when I could, making the overall end result exactly one minute long and jam packed with tons of information and a relatable storyline. I was super excited when I finished, and couldn't wait to upload. Unfortunately (and to my great horror) the upload bar stopped halfway through and stayed there for a while before saying: An error has occurred. I was and still am absolutely shocked and furious. Please fix this. I'm called Yetzu123 on Folioscope. It's generally a great app, but this one error makes me quite upset. If anyone wants to download this app, please do! It looks simple but the amount of incredible work you see makes you inspired and determined to make someone great of your own. Please, again. Help me fix this if you can. Thank you.

I used to think this app was ok. But I will not be using it anymore until further notice. My main problem is that the lineart is very pixelated and needs to be a lot smoother, like, take inspiration from flipaclip. You need to add more colours, it was highly requested as far as I was concerned. You might want to add a colour bar/wheel instead of just mixing colours. Another thing that annoyed me was that you could only write a certain amount of words when you comment, and you can't edit, delete them, etc. Then, the newest update was extremely unfair in my opinion. Only people who are "good" at animation, and have had features, (which you only really get if you're popular, let's be real) get profile pictures. I thought that was not fair in any way, and that people using this app should be treated the same. (I also noticed that there were always huge amounts of drama in the community). That was the final straw for me. For all of these reasons, I deleted my account and the app off my device. I don't know if any of these problems have been fixed yet, but I am not using this app until I see change.

I spend way too much time on this game! It’s so creative, and when you can’t think of any more things to animate, you can go and see other people’s animations! When you post your own, it’s lovely to get feedback and see how you can improve, and work towards what most see as one of the ultimate goals: to be featured... Though none of mine have been featured yet, I can tell I am improving a lot, and this has seriously helped my art skills. Though the colours are limited, this sparks creativity and also makes it far easier to redraw each frame. Your colours aren’t limited to just 6 anyway: you can use dithering to create literally any colour you want. Additionally, the developers have accounts, so you can talk to them and find out about new updates etc.... 100% recommended!

Ok imma say two things. 1 you NEED more colours alright it’s not that hard to make a colour wheel or just something that can add more colours! 2 those lines just look disgusting like they’re so bumpy they better get smoother, they also NEED wrk on. And I know you can pay, but I might as well just go on a different animation app if I need to pay for more sophisticated colours Other wise I gotta say that this app has HuGe potential it just needs wrk on its great for smaller kids such as the age 7-9 as there doodles aren’t as advanced as some of the things a 10-13 would do it is also good for 7-9 coz the layout it so simple unlike any other animation platform. Any way I’m just nitpicking PLZZZZZZZZ take this onboard as could realllly help you.
