User reviews affect conversion to installs and app rating. Featured and helpful reviews are the first to be noticed by users and in case of no response can affect download rate. This is why it is highly recommended to reply to them.
For the price of the subscription, this app really should do more. For one thing, it’s super frustrating that apps don’t come back to their same spot/folder on my home screen. I like to have my apps in a specific order, so this on its own is *almost* a deal breaker for me. I really hope the developers are working on figuring out a way to fix this issue. The other thing is, I’d like to be able to block certain specific apps instead of having to block everything. For example, I normally listen to Audible on my way to/from work or n the shower. This app in no way affects my productivity. In fact, it allows me to “read” while performing other tasks. But I don’t have a way to continue using this app while blocking just those that pose a distraction. Also, I should be able to schedule future blocks so that they happen automatically. For example, if I want to allow myself to use these apps at a certain time each day I should be able to do this. And finally, I should be able to block time-sucking apps (in my case Facebook or Instagram) for days at a time if I really wanted a reset. This app simply does not do why it should be able to do and is not worth the cost of the subscription. Super disappointing.
When I heard that Flipd was offering an app lock feature again, I was really happy because that was the main purpose I had for Flipd. I have no self control, so forcing myself out of my phone is my best option to get myself to work. Flipd’s option for this is probably the best out there, as there’s nothing sketchy about it and it’s made specifically for people who need to force themselves off their phone, while most apps like this are for parents restricting their child’s screen time. Based off of my great past experiences with this feature, you can imagine my disappointment when I opened this app to find that I have to pay to have more than 4 locks. That defeats the entire purpose.. I’m in high school and therefore can’t pay for that. Now instead of locking my phone whenever I need to work or study, I have to be wise about when and why I use my phone locks, which just encourages me to be on my phone more! I have to find a new app to lock my phone now. I’ve looked a lot of places in the past, but none are of the quality of Flipd. I highly recommend Flipd if you can afford the subscription, but otherwise it’s pretty much useless and not paying for the subscription defeats the point of the whole app.
PLEASE add a feature so I can decide which apps I want locked. I’m new to this app and within the first hour I realized I couldn’t start locking my phone because it would remove all my apps, including Zoom that I needed for a meeting and also removes Kindle and Audible which I need for learning. Please add a feature to let us decide which apps we would like removed. Plus this would be a huge help for the dizzying experience of the alphabetized apps that reappear. My mine focus to using this app is to lock social media. Most of my other apps, besides what I use for work and learning, I never touch anyway so there’s no need for them to disappear or for me to choose to lock them. This app is a great start but I’m very hesitant to pay the subscription. Is this option coming soon?
Hey! First and foremost, you guys have done a great job thus far. This app saved my semester on several occasions last semester when I needed to buckle down and type three research papers. It’s because of Flipd, I finished last semester confident in my work. My personal qualm remains that the apps and notification settings reshuffle upon use. Which you are prudent for communicating with users. Hopefully Apple will allow a change to this as it would directly boost to the quality of the app. I wish more would understand that app development, like every other developing good/skill, costs time and money. However, the people have a point. If a subscription costs $30/year and avg US student loan debt is > $5000, many will struggle to finance the app. My experience in marketing tells me that a good approach would be offering discounts/incentives. This would grow the brand’s second branch, spread awareness, and create more traction in a market which you have control of at the moment. These are my thoughts in sum, feel free to drop a link where I could share more. Best, Dan
I’m a last year medical intern preparing myself for the Residency exam which needs constant attention and long hours of studying. Before using focus lock I had trouble staying focused and I constantly found myself reaching for my phone and using social media or games. I had used many other apps for this purpose but since none of them was as strict as focus lock I didn’t have much improvement. Focus lock really helped me with my studying and I definitely recommend it for anyone who wishes to improve any aspect of their life specially studying.
