Now, while I did use this app to help me complete almost overdue schoolwork, I think this app could use some work. You cannot see how much time you have left or see when the next question is coming up if you are in full-screen without pausing the video. I also found that the app drained my device’s battery power. I started with 46% and finished with 9%. However, the video I watched was 23 minutes long. I would like to suggest that you make the keyboard and typing area more visible so that a customer can see what they are typing. Also, it was not clear at first how to make the keyboard feature go away. Past the few minor mishaps have I with this app, it is overall not a terrible app but nor is a great app. I would say mediocre at best.
Fist of all I had to do this is social studies 🤮🤮 then I downloaded that app to do the stupid assignment then it told me to go on the web but on the web it tells me to download the app.
This app is fine but there are so many issues on it. Like when I answered a yes or no question on it, I answered yes by accident and then I changed it to no. Thinking it would have switched the answer yes to no. But no it answered the question with it checked off yes and no as the answer. Like who wants to answer a yes or no answer with both yes or no as the answer. Also for multiple choice question could they fix it so that their aren’t 2 choices as the answer. You also can’t skip through the video to get the question. So if u have to watch an hour long video with only 5 questions on it. You can not skip through the video to just answer the questions. U have to watch through the whole video to get through the question. ALSO u can’t skip question so if your stuck on one u can’t skip it and come back to it later.
I absolutely love that this makes students watch the video and they cannot skip to the questions. It might be the only reason I use it. I also like that I can see if students tried to not watch some of it because I reduce their grade based on that they watch. I love it! They have to answer the questions before they can go on and they need to do everything in order. When I show videos in class not all students pay attention and they cheat off of each other. By using open ended questions and them not knowing the correct answer this virtually illuminates all of that. So perfect!!
While using this app with my students in class, there have been ups and downs. Sometimes it hasn't worked when I needed it too. However, I've emailed the company from my computer and I've always gotten a swift, same day reply with a quick fix. As the programmers work to fix the bugs, the reliability of the app is getting better every day. We just finished "To Build A Fire" without a single issue. The kids loved it and could go At their own pace or work in pairs. Great lesson for me and good customer service. I will definitely be using Edpuzzle again.
