Car Minder Plus - Car Maintenance and Gas Log (MPG)

Allows user to keep a log of repairs for multiple vehicles. Keeps a gas log for tracking MPG used. You can also track preventive maintenance items such as oil changes and tire rotations by mileage or date due. This app will alert you when an item is due for maintenance by giving a red light on the item that needs maintenance. Would rate this 5 stars if you could have the option to backup or restore the data to/from a file or cloud service. As it stands, if you get a new phone, you have to type everything all over again. It also asks for you to enter a price paid for gas on the gas log, but this data is never displayed anywhere. Overall great app, but could be perfect if you could backup your data or sync it with another family members iPhone.

I have used this app for years to manage five family cars. This has shown me when maintenance is required and helped me to avoid needless services. The user interface is intuitive. It may be considered dated to some but it is easy to use. Compare with other apps it is much cleaner. Unfortunately it doesn’t automatically update like several others but it is easy to use. I have switched once from iPhone 5 to 7 and I don’t remember having to re-enter all my data. Maybe I did, but I don’t recall that. It high to screwed the pooch. One car the service due turned out I was 1,000,000 one million miles overdue on all services. I couldn’t figure it out. Explored several other apps and grew weary of the poor layouts and pain to enter activity. Thankfully I saw wear I could edit the ending reading. I accidentally entered a huge mileage reading prior. I edited the fill up which caused the issue and I am back up. I emailed a trucks record to myself and provided that as background service information to the man I sold the truck to. He loved the real-time summation provided by the report. It is a shame no other updates. But this works and is hassle free. Until I find something as easy to use, I am sticking with this app.

The app really is good overall. Easy to set up maintenance schedules, know what's coming up and when, and to track your fuel economy over time. Wish the app would also graph fuel prices if it's going to ask me to enter them. Miss the ability to switch between 3-mo, 12-mo and lifetime fuel economy graphs. Also wish it would track repair costs over time to see how much you're really spending on your car. App could easily calculate total cost to drive per year or per mile. But those are my wishes. When it comes down to it, it's still a great app that serves it's purpose: to keep you on-track for scheduled maintenance and track your fuel economy. I'd recommend it to anyone considering an app for those purposes.

It's a pretty solid app. Doesn't crash or lose information. I mostly use this app to log my mpg. I live in TX and we have too many stickers on the inside of our vehicles already, so I love the fact I can immediately take the oil change sticker off after entering the information into this app. I did read, that if you change phones your information does not come along with the app. That could be a major downfall for someone who changes phones often, but I tend to keep mine for a few years so it's not a problem for me. Anyway I figure you could just email yourself the report and renter the information if you were inclined to have it all on the app.

I have been using this app religiously for over a year. Its not great, but its enough to help me track my maintenance schedule. There is room for much improvement. The Biggest thing and reason for my 1 star rating is there is absolutely no support and no way to transfer data to another iPhone. I am pretty much all in with this app because of all of the data collected, so I will be forced to re-enter over a years worth of data. I emailed the developer to ask if there was a work around and never received a response. UPDATE I once again had to restore my iphone and lost all my data. I finally caved in and purchased "Auto Care". I did not get the free version and am now able to back up my data to Dropbox. I do not like the interface as much as Car Minder, but its the tedious work of typing all that data I wont miss any more.
