It's like an encyclopedia of the solar system but not as good as some of the other solar system apps on the App Store it could use an update to include more photos and update photos.
The activities are fun. For visual learners, it works to play various games first, then take time to learn from text about just a few topics. Eventually, curiosity leads to reading more. By then, the images are well-learned. Great for memory strengthening.
I bought this to use in addition to our Astronomy unit. This is not interactive. Lots of reading involved and there is no audio for the text. My 10 year old has vision tracking issues so reading the "articles" is basically impossible. It would be nice if the text had and audio option. Not worth $5.
As with all of the other Britannica Kids offerings, the interface is gorgeous, the facts are impeccable, and the games are FUN! Both my kids and even I like to play all fo these games. Well worth the purchase price.
When our kindergartener brought home a book from his school's library about Jupiter and said it was his favorite planet, I really wanted to expand on that interest and find a solar system app. This one had 5 stars and a good review that said it was worth the $5, so I bought it. Within 5 minutes I realized this is not what I thought it was going to be. Not interactive at all. A lot of small typing that gets boring for young children. The few videos it has are boring. I don't see us using this app at all. Nothing you couldn't find off a google search.
