I’ve dated a number of women in my life now at 24. So I would consider myself to have a worthy amount of experience when it comes to that of the opposite sex, I’ve also encountered women who wouldn’t necessarily go for a guy such as myself, but have won them over in the end. Not for my looks, I’ve been told by many I’m an attractive black male and I also model. Just by my general interests being different. However, in the off chance of matching with people, you are limited due to the lack of worthy descriptions of yourself. Personal info questions such as: “do you desire children, are you looking for long term or hook up, is sexual chemistry important, do you happen to drink or smoke” etc are all but missing in this apps protocol. The only thing you can really gain from seeing a persons profile is an “about me” tab, and more often then not it’s left blank. So all you see is picture of them an how far away they are. The app also needs a reminder tab to let you know to swipe today bec many people will literally forget they have the app sometimes and will message you back a day or 2 after you sent a message (I’m guilty of this myself) Little things like this can quickly improve the apps overall usability and user-friendliness.
I don’t usually write reviews but I wanted to share my experience with the app! I joined BLK sometime the beginning of this year after being recommended through a friend that met her GF through BLK. And believe me when I say I couldn’t have been any happier to have joined. I typically would set up 3-4 dates a week if I was consistent on actually signing into the app and answering my chats. No weird bug issues for me and I never ran into any “weirdos” when actually meeting up. If I hadn’t given this app a try I wouldn’t have met the love of my life from here. We tell EVERYONE about BLK and our story of how we met through the service. It’s so hard dating in the LGBTQ Community and I honestly wasn’t expecting to connect with anyone through the platform but I BLK introduced me to the person I’m going to spend the rest of my life with Thank you BLK! ❤️
Signed up and seen the app looked nice even signed up for the 14 day trial which I paid for and After 4 days my account was closed and couldn’t use the app. I didn’t message anyone. ,Didn’t report anyone page or anything for that matter. Now I did take my photo down within those 4 days. Just wanted to browse through the app for minute. Reached out to customer service and they got back to me after 2-3 days. But the representative through the email couldn’t tell me why it was closed or why I couldn’t log in. And The money which I paid for the 14 day trial wasn’t refunded. So I can’t use the app and my hard earned money was never refunded. Now the app has a lot of potential but just the fact that they can shut your account down without any warning or give any reason why ....is a quick pass. What would have happened if I signed up for 6 months ....and my account was shut down. I would have been out of $100 dollars or whatever it is for 6 months. If u got money to burn or like Russian roulette or wanna roll the dice ...go right ahead. Make it quick ...I only lasted about 4 days👌🏾
I heard about this from an 18 yr old friend in army and we go to college together during our training he told me about an app that you meet people on I said I needed to see somebody for once I got the app started like usual learned swipe mess in a minute. I look at the photos and just see empty bios because nobody writes, is P2P, ima say it fat ugly girls that keep showing up in your search somehow even though you block them...😑. The first two weeks after I got I got two matches 18 yr olds cute near me bout 20 min drives.... talked for about an hour with first and a min with 2nd and poof they disappear and don’t respond. No more after that. 3 months and only 4 matches total and I come back on it see elite membership that I can’t access even though I had subscription that I canceled in the two weeks. Apple won’t give refund and I can’t delete account for whatever reason until end of this year... so I’m stuck with this trash and watching it slowly die as it reveals itself to be a cash grab no benefits from premium either 5 more really likes a day and a rewind with few boost to make profile stand out. Lost $24 and saw other apps like this too don’t do dating apps. Social media
Okay coming from a black woman who is only interested in black men... this is the app I have been WAITING for! I have wanted an app like this for the longest. So for that I appreciate you so much, because I only find my men attractive so it’s good to see my Kings on here with me....... now as far as everything else is concerned. Please allow us to show our location, and for us to see theirs as well. Worst thing in the world is to be having a great conversation and then finding out they are in a completely different state. I will chalk that up to this being new. Also I think we should more characters to speak, some people have more to say than others. You should also provide a back/reverse feature just in case we swiped right or left on someone we didn’t want to. Other than it being very vague at times, and a lot of people haven’t discovered this beauty I think it will go over well. Can’t wait to see the improvements
