As far as mixing goes, I’d say it’s one of the best Daws to mix projects that you record in other Daws and exports stem with. The mixer has most others beat, hands down.....but that’s about the only thing it has the others beat at. To be honest, I don’t understand the developers choices at all when it comes to creating in Auria Pro. Just about every other IOS Daw is more fluid. There’s no manual punching in like every other IOS Daw has, now you have to turn on and off midi when your recording midi instruments if you don’t want to trigger instruments other than the one you want to record. If you do have an audio track armed and want to auto punch, you can’t hear the audio on the armed track. In short, the recording aspect of it is a train wreck for me personally. Again, mixing in it is great and one of the things that it did have over other Daws were the FabFilter plugins but now that they are auv3 plugins now it doesn’t really have that going for it over other Daws anymore. This Daw just gets in the way of the flow in too many ways. Other Daw let you arm and disarm track while the song is playing, punch in on the fly if that spark hits you while the track is playing, don’t require disabling midi and enabling midi on instrument tracks, they just play the instrument on the track you have selected, in short, they are just more fluid, whereas this doesn’t feel fluid at all.
So Auria is good. It’s a *really true way to make “pro” music on iPad. And I’d give it full marks - once upon a time. But there are OBVIOUS PROBLEMS and it’s been MONTHS with zero “developer responses.” Hell, they don’t even update their “limited time off” descriptions on iTunes? Lol! Really? Months after their “sale”? So my best advice to others looking for a solution is AURIA showed AMAZING promise, but they got theirs (looks pretty obvious) and bought a yacht and quit... that’s fine. Truly. But the review is 5star effort... 1star follow through. Get a cheap computer and Pro-Tools and just swap stems from that or even (Music memos?). This is expensive and fizzled out. I’d gladly pay a subscription if AVID purchases Auria, but until that day... wait if your budget is limited. Also this has a relatively steep learning curve. That’s fine. And know your tools if you wanna make music. But you only have so much time in your day/life? If they quit, quit them back (and they did quit.... months ((years?))ago).
I’m sure this daw is worth it’s weight in gold. I’ve read all kind of reviews on it and watched numerous videos on it. The thing that I don’t get is, why my two audio interfaces work perfect with GarageBand and n-track studio, but not your daw. I have two usb interfaces, (Yamaha audiogram6) and an (audient iD14). I hope there is some type of resolution for this issue. I’m looking forward to making Auria pro my main daw. Thanks
First of all I really want to thank you guys for such an amazing app and of course the amazing plugins... I invested a lot of money in this app cause I’m really in love with it!! BUT... where are the updates...?? I have a very bad feeling that you guys maybe decided to stop...?! Please don’t!!! We music producers truly need your app!! And invested sooo much money on it I really don’t want it to die on us!! I already start having some glitches and random shut downs here and there... and it scares me cause that’s my daily workstation!! Please tell me that you guys are working on something!! And again thanks a million times!!!!!!
Thank you developers for this awesome product..I use Auria more than my desktop apps..keep up the good work..love the creative ideas..work flow is flawless on this program..best iOS multitrack app out..thanks
