Everyday I search the App store looking for that one game to satisfy my mobile gaming needs. Something that is simple, yet challenging, and has rewarding gameplay. A free game preferably, but one without pop-up ads (I’ll let the shady salesmen slide) and restrictive energy systems. This game does all that and more, all in a one-handed package. I described it to my friends as a mix of Brawlstars and Enter the Gungeon. Two amazing games in the mobile and bullet hell categories, respectively. If your a fan of rouge-like games don’t hesitate on this one. The amount of power-up combinations makes every run a new experience. Unless you want to try for a certain load out, which is achievable while still maintaining variety. Variety which carries over into the enemies. A healthy amount of attack/movement types to always have you on your toes, and learning new tricks. I’d love to see some alterations to bosses in the future, though. Some of them are really easy, especially after acquiring gear and upgrading. Do not let your guard down though. One minute you’re full health, and the next you’re half or lower, surrounded by spiders getting zeroed in by snipers... I think this game is setup well for online, but I enjoy not worrying about leaderboards and just playing the game, trying to get better. Overall fantastic game. Keep updating, and I’ll keep playing and probably buying some more gems or chests. Great job!
Alright, I’m going to start off my review with my one thought: The ads of this game are absolute garbage compared to the game itself. I’ll take the most common ad I’ve gotten for example. It’s a person with a bow shooting zombies, and they built some walls to filter them into a line. They just stand still and kill them whilst more waves come in. Then the ad ends after 30 seconds. After seeing the ad about 20+ times I decided to give it a go. After playing thr game for a while, I realized that it has so much more than what the ad was showing, minus the placing of walls. Every run you go through rounds of enemies, getting more difficult as you progress. You pick up gold for currency and it levels up your character for that run. Every time you level up you get a choice of perks that benefit you, and everyso often you’ll meet a ghost that gives you another perk to help tou out. Outside of playing the actual game, you can earn gear that universally upgrades your character. You can also unlock permanent upgrades to help you. Basically what my whole rant is leading up to, is me asking this: Please make the ads better. Honestly, why make an ad of a game that looks bad, than a game that shows the true potential and experiece of it?
I have been playing this game for about a month now and I love it. I love how every level is obtainable, but at the same time not so easy where you’ll just fly by the levels. The game is always changing up the level so it won’t get repetitive, even the bosses will change the order. The in game leveling system will make you make tough choices, but ultimately you have to find your own play style. There are, however, a few things I would like to see changed/improved. I think the energy system is a huge turn off. Not quick enough regen and if I play 4 games straight, that’s it. I don’t want to use gems for more, because I save those for the chest. Also, the inventory/fusion system. So I have a lot of duplicates of low tier items that I don’t have enough to fuse but they are just cluttering. I think the fact that you need three of the same tier items to fuse is bad as well. Shouldn’t you only need two to fuse? Why do I need to put a third of the same item in the slot the new weapon is coming out of? I think a good counter to having the two fusion system, would be to reset the level of the weapon you are fusing. Other than these things, I think the other in game mechanics are great. The fact that you don’t get an ad every time you die is awesome, and they give you the option to watch the ad if you want to spin again. Great game would recommend for anyone who wants to mobile game.
This is a great game and I have a blast playing it. My only complaint is that they recently removed boss rolling which was a way to get a different boss for a specific level. The main issue that I have is especially on chapter 7, barren of shadows, the bosses are very unbalanced and some are unfair. For stages 1-3 the bosses are pretty easy but it is what you expect from early stages. Then for stages 4-5, most of the bosses are a little bit challenging but with practice they are not too bad, but the problem also lies here, there is a scarecrow boss that is by far the hardest boss in the entire level and it is present at stages 4 or 5. If I ever see the scarecrow boss it is almost always a guaranteed loss, especially since it takes place so early on and not many upgrades have been acquired. Also in the later levels there is a mixture of easy and extremely difficult bosses which make no sense and just ramp up in difficulty. All of the other levels in the game feel like there is a bit of skill involved and the more you practice, the better you will be. However for stage 7, this is not the case as beating this stage heavily relies on rng of what bosses you get, what order you get them, And what attacks they do as sometimes it’ll be easy to dodge and others it’ll be straight up impossible.
I saw the game from pewdipie’s video and gave it a try. As a game it’s really great. I don’t really mind the energy thing as it takes me off the game after a while so that I don’t spend hours of my day basically wasting my time. I understand the other complaints about the energy system because 10 mins per energy is quite long when you need 5 to play one round that might last you less than 5 mins. Maybe 3 mins to charge each or maybe even 5 would’ve been bearable. Next are the item and health drops. It’s quite frustrating to advance far from the beginning (I’m on chapter 3 which might not be too far) but still have beginner items, which I know can be upgraded but common is still common and has an unsatisfying feel. Lastly the health in game, specifically on chapter 3. There are waves of enemies per room that will spawn with a timer and you are bound to get hit if you weren’t able to take care of the wave before and enemies stack up. There should be more health drops than there is because it’s quite impossible to dodge almost 10 long range attacks that doesn’t care about obstacles. I knew this game was gonna be one of those “pay to win” games which only care about squeezing as much money from someone until they get bored. In summary, better or more item drops, more health drops, less energy timer. I honestly think how the game works is amazing except for all the priced stuff
