User reviews affect conversion to installs and app rating. Featured and helpful reviews are the first to be noticed by users and in case of no response can affect download rate. This is why it is highly recommended to reply to them.
The app used to be spotless and very reliable. However, this is no longer the case. I started a new course in June and I no longer receive notifications! All notifications and badges are enabled through the settings menu on my iPhone but whenever a new grade posts or I have a response to one of my forum posts the app no longer notifies me of it. I have checked for updates- everything is up to date. Saw somebody else’s review they had the same problem and the developers response was that the issue had been fixed but still nothing has changed for me! I still don’t get notifications! Please help if you can. Thank you
I think this app is awesome. The reason why I only gave it three stars though is because of a couple of reasons: the main one being that I can’t access every folder option in the class. I understand the app is going to be limited in some areas - that’s obvious. But, it’d be nice to be able to see if I have any tests or quizzes due instead of not having that option at all. The second reason for only three stars is this: when typing in the response box for our weekly forums, question marks appear where apostrophes should be. I’ve seen other various shapes as well when reading people’s posts. I believe it comes from the auto-correct function. The funny part is that it auto-corrects incorrectly in the final product on the computer...but not on the app. I appreciate the fact that AMU made an app (it helps immensely when you’re on deployment), and I’m highly appreciative of the occasional upgrades (I get notifications now), I think after the auto-correct function is fixed, this app will be a powerhouse. Thanks, again.
I’ve been using this app for about 5 years or so now and overall, it’s a great asset to my education. I use this frequently on the go to complete forum requirements. The reason for a four star is for a couple of things. The app has not been reconfigured to the new iPhone’s screen size and functions. Not a deal breaker but it’s one of those things that you notice every time you open the app. The second thing is that we can’t access the lessons. In some classes like foreign language classes, Rosetta Stone is used all the time. Luckily during the first week, the instructor posts the way to get the app unlocked on the phone. If lessons become available through the app, this will become one of my favorite apps for education.
This app worked perfectly for the longest time, I received notifications immediately when grades and forums we posted, I was able to review grades assignments, message the professors... I never once encountered an error or had any problems with this app up until they did a major update to Sakai. Now, this app is horrible, utterly useless. Not sure if it's set up as a push or pull with the Sakai server, regardless something is to fault. I'll randomly get. Notification grades are posted, come to find out the app removed all my old grades and reposted my grades (no new grades). Logged into the app just now as it sent me a notification I have a new grade posted (now I don't have a single grade in the app) for some reason have I have a 2 next to the grade report, claiming I do have grades in there. Forums are also broken as the app will sometime update the forum hours or days later. Fix it please!
I’m not sure why all the bad reviews. I’ve used this app for over a year now and it has always worked well for me. I love being able to quickly check forum replies, announcements and grades. It’s not easy to complete 100% of everything but I wouldn’t do that anyways. Hey I can type and search much faster on a computer so working assignments from a phone was never my goal. I think it serves the purpose well for me to check in on work breaks and even post forums when super busy. I’m very pleased with this app as well as the accompanying apps to check school specific info and the Vitalsource Bookshelf.
