It reminds me of old school text based games from the 90’s. The dialogue is very good, but both of the characters have a sense of humor a bit darker than me, so sometimes it’s hard to jump into character. But I pretend, and to fun. The game is very slow (or very quick) depending on your perspective. There’s a lot of waiting— the same kind of waiting you have when your girlfriend is two hours late and won’t text you back. So, there is nothing to do while you wait. But, I suppose this adds to the role playing factor. If you are really trying to give somebody the moral support they need in order to escape a cave, they are going to be busy doing things. On the other hand, it’s a game. So it could use some speeding up.
Maybe the lines are good but you won't be able to check if they are, because when Wes wakes up near the river, the game starts to double all your possible answers and Wes can't continue your conversation before you choose all possible answers. And the same lines repeat and repeat again, infinitely...
Great game with a twist you won't see coming. Under is fun to play and challenging to keep the character (Wes) alive and moving forward in his quest for freedom. The developer is very creative in the way the story plays out. Highly recommend playing Under.
