The app is awesome when it works, but it has trouble connecting to wifi sometimes. And what is most bothersome is that it has trouble connecting when using data too. Also, when it has trouble connecting it seems to stop altogether. It doesn't matter if I close it, delete the cache. I've already had to redownload the app 3 times in the course of a few weeks.
I used to enjoy this app. Now it's really hard to enjoy Skype because of how horrible the quality is. After update, among various others. I feel now it's safe to say that there is no way of saving this platform. Seeing how it continues to worsen despite all these new updates. Another recent change I don't like is the fact that a bot got angry at me five times in a row over something stupid as a profile picture. It's nothing graphic. I've had it for a few years now. Why is it a big deal now?
Skype is a convenient and free platform for texting. I like that it does not require a phone number to create an account. Generally works fine, but frequently had glitches. Messages will be sent but disappear for the recipient. Most recently it is cutting off the last line of messages. Often struggles to keep up with the availability status of people. I don't use the phone feature much but it has worked fine when I use it.
Works fine, but i have noticed a serious bug. I had a group call, which ended with the app in background by the others leaving, but the system was like if i was still in a call. I could have noticed, that my volume changer, which is set to media by default, was still setting in-call volume after the call. Because of this, i have missed all 4 of my alarms in the next morning, because they didnt fire while "being in call".
My husband and I are both using the Samsung Galaxy S10+ and are having issues with not receiving notifications when the other messages. If we are actively on our phone, we don't even get the banner pop up letting us know the other has sent a message, or a notification symbol in the notification bar saying a message has been received. We have tried changing settings, force stops, clearing cache, restarting phones, and uninstalling and then reinstalling. It only made it worse.
