Researchers at Monash University have developed a diet and corresponding app to assist in management of the gastrointestinal symptoms associated with Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS). The Monash University Low FODMAP diet works by restricting foods high in some carbohydrates called FODMAPs. The app comes directly from the research team at Monash and includes the following: - General information about the FODMAP diet and IBS. - Easy to understand tutorials to guide you through the app and the 3-Step FODMAP diet. - A Food Guide detailing the FODMAP content for hundreds of foods using a simple 'traffic light system'. - A list of branded products that have been certified by Monash as low FODMAP. - A collection of over 70 nutritious, low FODMAP recipes. - Functions that allow you to create your own shopping list and add notes to individual foods - A Diary that enables you to record food eaten, IBS symptoms, bowel habits and stress levels. The Diary will also guide you through step 2 of the diet - FODMAP reintroduction. - The ability to adjust units of measurement (metric or imperial) and activate colour blindness assistance.

Bug report: The basic information is good, but the search facility does not work correctly. I can search for one thing OK, but if I try to change the search it freezes for the second search and I have to keep closing the app and re-starting for every search. This is especially frustrating when I am in a store trying to see what food I can buy and what food I can't. It makes my shopping experience rather tiresome and lengthy, which is not good for a man who cannot stand or walk for long periods. Also, is there any plan to include more food in UK?

App design is very old-fashioned and not very fluid. Definitely full of information but not much interacting for the user. The diary and shopping list has to be created rather than choosing foods from the list provided. Things to make it better would included an up-to-date layout, ability to make a meal plan and add things easily to the diary and shopping features.

Great app but not user friendly when inputting mass bits of data. I write everything down in a notebook so I'm not on my phone all of time with work etc, and I wish you could prepopulate meals that I will have everyday or very often e.g. Porridge etc. Like it would be useful if it remembers what you've typed in before like predictive text. Also to change dates and times takes so much longer than it should, user friendliness of app could be greatly improved. But overall a very useful tool

Overall I'm happy with the app. Although it doesn't support some versions of Android. On the Samsung Tab S2 (Android 7.0) the help screens don't display properly, parts are missing off the bottom of the pages where it works fine on a Nokia 6 (Android 9). The diary seems to me to be a good idea. However is there a way to export the diary to share with my nutritionist? Thank you

Pretty easy for navigation. A little disappointed in food diary entry...cant just pick a food from the list. Like how it will track how you're symptoms are daily. Just starting a Low FODMAP diet. Crohns for 25 years. GI doctor recommended trying this to ease symptoms and maybe target foods that are an issue for me. Worth the money.
