I am honestly pretty frustrated with my recent messenger experience. The app is constantly out of sync with the web version, I will send some messages on the web version from my computer, and the app will only update to show my outgoing messages, but none of the responses I get. It also frequently is stuck on showing the "downloading photo" text, even when I have strong wifi connection, and there is no way to force it to try to download the photo again, I just have to wait.
What happened to the option to creat a shortcut on home screen to open up directly to specific conversations? It was working fine until the last few updates. I had shortcuts on my home screen for the few people i message most, now it wont work. And it no longer has the option for shortcuts in the conversation settings. Please fix ASAP!!! Other than that, it works great. But the shortcut feature was one of my favorite. Only three stars until this issue is fixed
Photos/videos not loading. Hello, my app is up to date, but I have found recently that photos and videos are not loading properly, or taking a lengthy amount of time to actually come through. I will receive messages that say someone has 'sent a photo' or 'sent a video' but the photo/video itself does not load. Any information you have regarding this issue would be greatly appreciated. Thank you
Up until recently I have generally had a good experience with this app, but as of the most recent update 1/13/2020 it is broken. It was flakey, blinking and slow, then as of this morning it would suddenly minimize itself seconds after I opened it. I cleared cache, rebooted my phone, nothing helped. Uninstalled and reinstalled, now it won't open at all. Leaving 3 stars for past 5 star performance, but if it doesn't get fixed soon I will have to decide whether I should try another app
Since the update to Facebook's Dating part of their program it looks like the programmers wanted to make this ugly also. It's not a joy to use as it was before and the so-called bubbles color has changed. You don't have an option to keep the older, that I can see. The Confirm Read prompt shows itself once in a while though I have showing I've read a message disabled. Personally, I'd really love my Samsung S9 to be reverted back to when I bought it..before all the forced updates. Oh, well.
