User reviews affect conversion to installs and app rating. Featured and helpful reviews are the first to be noticed by users and in case of no response can affect download rate. This is why it is highly recommended to reply to them.
From the description, it seems clear that lossless audio is included for the $9.99 per month, but it is not included. This is extremely misleading and led to me choosing this app over the competitor, Primephonic. In addition, when streaming an album, there is a significant delay between tracks. This is disruptive when tracks are intended to be continuous or transition smoothly. Otherwise, I absolutely love this app and it would easily get 5 stars. Love the search by instrument!
It's a very good service with a quality catalog - not exhaustive by any means but still very good and improving. The option to listen in less compressed mode (effectively CD quality) is good but you have to subscribe to the premium service; to me it is worth it. I would recommend this as a viable option if you listen to a lot of classical music; personally I think this is a better choice than the usual suspects. Inviting artists to offer the personal selections, etc are nice touches too. I use this at home (30-ish MB/s download speed) streaming through a good audio system, at work via my laptop and in my car via my phone (over 4G). Rarely have a playback problem. The major thing they still need to sort (and I would not let this put you off subscribing for now) is the ability to organize your music collections - I have been assured this is coming. For Idagio: I like your service and want you guys to succeed but you've got to fix this. I know its easier said than done, but if you don't figure it out someone else will. I'll give you that extra star if you sort it!
There is no current queue button and thus no way to view where you are in a station (e.g., Baroque). It's frustrating that the only way to figure out what is coming up next is to search for the station/playlist/album again and scroll through it. Why have stations and curated playlists without a queue button? That said, the search and presentation of relevant metadata is impressive. Mainstream streaming services come up majorly short in these areas. 3.5 stars @ the whole streaming world.
Fantastic resource for classical music however I fail to understand the delay in the ability to create a playlist in the android version! Currently having to create playlists from an iOS device in order to not scroll through hundreds of tracks again - it seems like something that should be in from day 1! I really hope to be able to give this app 5 stars very soon as I am thinking of outright cancelling spotify for this however still a few things that needs to be added.
- Lots of repertoire missing (particularly in early music) - no way to sort your library (alphabetically, recently added, downloaded etc) - classical subgenres are available on a very basic level only, once you're in a subgenre you can only display tracks and not whole CDs - no way to favourite artists/genres - downloads are quite buggy, sometimes interrupting without apparent reason. Recently the app keeps refusing to play any freshly downloaded music, claiming there's no internet connection
