User reviews affect conversion to installs and app rating. Featured and helpful reviews are the first to be noticed by users and in case of no response can affect download rate. This is why it is highly recommended to reply to them.
I really like this stripped down version of maps but wish it would hold settings when closed, or that we could save defaults (unless I'm missing something) so that, for example, the traffic layer is enabled when I open the app. Other than that it's nice to not be assaulted by the huge suggestions thing at the bottom of regular maps.
Takes to long to open and you have to open maps, then open navigate and then Google go each one takeing time and battery life. Then it keeps saying GPS single lost and its still giving directions. My son and I were lost on a busy interstate where we needed quick firections with a quick gas station. We had to pull over on interstate and it took us 20 minutes ti even get app to show us a gas station. Then it eouldny shiw us the closest one. Very very fustrating
An update replaced the original maps app with this without notifying me. I was stranded for four hours in an unfamiliar city with the map's conpass always saying north was to the left of the screen and my location was where i'd been that morning as it never updated, even after closing the app and re-searching the address. I assume this is to do with compatibility with my phone & watch, but forcing the stealth update in the first place seems messed up as hell.
MISLEADING: From my starting point in Wandegeya, I followed the map and I increasingly found difficulties getting to the destination (Kira Mixed Farm, Uganda). At one point I saw a sign post (for said farm) BUT the pointer on the map still continued to show that the destination was ahead, implying that I continue. Later, far, I tapped on the "Steps" tab, and, to my dismay, the "steps" indicated a completely DIFFERENT description from the map navigation - which (to my shock) was the correct stuff
Very poorly exocuted app again by the goofle team of incompetents. So as i had thought by it's description, this was going to be quicker and easier to use for public transit routes and bicycling pathways within my city, my two modes of transport throughout and even beyond. So in an era that is forevermore after data i thought id try to save some. Nope. This runs in chrome or rather 'through' the use of and is VERY very slow guys. And not at all accurate nor does it show times of transit routes...
