Dropping a star because finding the 720p mode is very unintuitive (but it is possible). You need to go to where you installed the software on your computer (something like C:\Program Files (x86)\DroidCam...and make sure the software isn't running) and click "Toggle HD mode". This will popup a window where you can select 720p (4:3 or 16:9 options are available). Also note that you will need to restart your phone if you've been using the free version and install this one, or it won't connect. I did not have any issues with the orange screen, but I tried the setup on the free version first. I suspect the most common issue, if you are using USB mode, is that you haven't turned on USB debugging on your phone. Also, make sure to set the USB mode to Midi on your phone. I use this via USB in order to add a facecam to my Youtube videos, which I film with OBS. It works well, pretty easy to set up...I wouldn't use this for a full screen video (you really want 1080p for that), but it's good enough for a facecam. I'm a new Youtuber, so it's much cheaper to use my phone + $5 software vs buying a webcam or a video capture card.
I bought this app to use with my Linux (Manjaro) install. However, the linux app gets the pro features for free, which I'm happy with. Having the pro version should still be fine when I connect to a Windows PC, even though I was using the free app Iriun Webcam to do 1080 when on Windows, and just didn't want to get all the debian dependencies to run it on Arch Linux. Well, for some reason the pro version of this app is incapable of running at 1080p. I can run it this way on the free app, pls fix
The say...it obscure the permission request..and it fails...What is wrong? Device is fit right, adb is installed, wifi is on and every other setting is OK But the mobile app obscure the permission request. Yes I shift port number...4747, 4848, 5050 But the app obscures the permission request. My WIN 10 is purchased with Full Package Version.
I am gonna give a 4 stars review because the camera resolution is low 640x480. I can't even change it to a bigger resolution.I can't find the option so I welcome any insight. Rather than that it's better than epocam and worth the money.
FIX ORANGE SCREEN: if you see an orange screen you didnt properly follow the instructions for setting up the app. You need to ensure debugging via usb option on your phone is functional, or it could be another issue. This app performs as expected, it would be nicer if the resolution was higher than 720p but this is difficult functionality to make, likely a hardware limitation. I also only use it with a USB, I wouldn't recommend using this app with WiFi.
