User reviews affect conversion to installs and app rating. Featured and helpful reviews are the first to be noticed by users and in case of no response can affect download rate. This is why it is highly recommended to reply to them.
The app does its job, and it does it well. Very well, in fact. Where it fails, is in battery life. My phone used to survive two days on a single charge. With the app installed and all features enabled, it causes my battery to last about half a day on the same usage. I would get home from work with 75% every day, now I get home with 30%. It's just awful for both short term, and long term battery life.
I can't complain about how the app works. However, I have one complaint that after reporting to the Lookout Help Desk still hasn't been addressed. I have the Premium edition and it's worth the subscription price, however, I get an average of 2-8 false device missing or SIM card has changed notifications from the Lookout website at least every week. Today I got two both with a picture of me which the camera takes. Most of the time it's a picture of the ceiling of my car when I park in a parking garage such as the one at my doctor's office. The reply I got from the help desk is its a noted problem, but so far no one from Lookout's development team has been able to resolve this annoyance. I hope that some day this nuisance in the app will be resolved. Until then it's only worth four stars.
It's a powerful app and provides great protection. However, it is a battery hog. Figures over 4 hours today since full charge: now down to 50%, implying around an 8 hour battery life, but I normally get a comfortable full day, with reasonably heavy usage. 18% of the battery usage has been lookout, with closest other ago consumption being Chrome, Google Play Services and Google maps at 3% each. I can't sustain this battery drain!
First of all, when I couldn't find my phone I used the "locate my device" option and it showed my phone to be in a completely different location than where it was. So I decided to cancel my premium subscription since the app has proven useless. Unfortunately there's no way to unsubscribe from lookout premium. At least not on my Samsung Galaxy s9 with T Mobile. They also have no customer service number and offer no way to get help for this issue. I will be reporting this company to the BBB.
Hopefully the antivirus works on it hopefully my phone is safer with it installed like most other apps to upgrade cost money to use the other added features but it's powerful enough to wipe previous device and device curently being used. Accidentally wiped and removed my secure folder losing all information and apps. I believe in everything happens for a reason. Had to reinstall apps in Secure folder.starting from scratch.thats how we learn,what not to do
